Anger management

We will be posting up opportunities to participate with the city anger managements classes. In order for a child to participate in city league football, one parent has to attend anger management with the city. However, from our past experience, this does not always resolve problems in the field during the games. We understand that as coaches, parents, relative, and friends we want the best for the kids. This being a contact and completive sport our emotions can get away from us.

But remember one of the things that we as coaches want to teach the kids is sportsmanship and respect, even if the opposing team, parents, relatives and fans do not. We have no control of how others behave, and to be honest of how anybody behaves including NE Texans Parents. I do know that most Coaches are there for benefit of the kids playing for their team, and I have to believe that most are good. Even though their judgments may get away from that 10%. You may feel a referee may not make the best call or any call, but they could only hurt the game by so much. A good team could by pass bad ref calls and cheats. Besides, most referees are decent, and I would rather be on their good side for the most part.

But my policy for the sport is Cheer for your player, cheer our team. Get loud and excited, the kids are playing for you after all. But don't trash talk or bad mouth any kid no matter the team. They are just KIDS. Let us as coaches, deal with opposing parents, Refs and Opposing Coaches. If you have a problem, you come to us first before taking things on your own. If you have that friend or relative that gets a bit excessive with excitement have them read this page. Before, there is a fight out in the field because adults don't know how to act; we will FORFIET a game first if it has anything to with our side. And sould an opposing side should get out of hand...well...get away from them. Chances are that we are beating their team, stay on our designated side. This is a game set for the kids, our football glorydays are behind us. This is Little League Football.

We practice flag football at Veterans Park, on the corner of Rushing and Salem. Enter the park on Salem and go to the second baseball diamond under the lights. You will find the team mom in the baseball dugout with the Texan canvass cover. We will be practicing there unless there is a baseball game set to be played there. Then we will meet between the baseball fields under the lights. We will hold practice there till the time change in spring.
